A pitch deck is a presentation, often created on software such as MS PowerPoint or Keynote, used to concisely summarize and describe a business. A successful pitch deck should be able to tell the story of the business, engaging the audience, and provide the most relevant information. The ideal length of pitch deck should be between 20-30 slides, and it should take no longer than 15 minutes to present the entire content. This free pitch deck template is organized in the following order:
Introduction and the big idea (slides 1-8)
This section introduces the background of the company and the team, explaining why it exists and what it is trying to achieve (mission, vision, values). It then addressed the problem it is trying to solve, the audience it serves, and the timing. It is important to highlight the things that make the company unique and why it can serve the audience better than its competitors, such as showing its financial metrics.
Explain your secret sauce (slides 9-18)
After addressing the issue facing the customers and how the company aims at solving the issue, it should describe its business model which supports its daily operation and other activities. The company should define its market segment and address how and where to acquire these customers. More importantly, the investors would want to know why the company wants to raise money, the potential growth opportunity of the business, as well as the company's competitive advantage over its industry rivals.
